Laguna Lights is the third book in the Laguna Beach series, however, it can be read as a stand-alone. Having read the previous books in the series, I was glad for the chance to read and review this installment. I was curious to see how Ms. Roruda would make Laura into a likable character.

At the beginning of the series Laura was viewed as a self-centered bitch who would do, whatsoever, it took to outshine her co-stars. The irony was that she became the character of the very show she was a part of which resulted in her being disliked by almost everyone she came in contact with.

In this installment, Laura’s life in Hollywood is not going to well. Her relationship of ten years has come to an abrupt end and her career was not going in the direction she had hoped it would. She realized that she needed to make some changes in her life, however, she was not sure where to start. She decided to return to Laguna Beach to reconnect with friends and in the process find a solution to her current predicament. On her return, unexpected events occurred which led to her facing new beginnings. Will she cease this new found opportunity or will her former life continue to be a noose around her neck?

Paul Dorn a native New Yorker, came to Laguna Beach to pursue his dreams of starting his own business. Little did he know that this decision would lead to him meeting Laura Kinkaid. From the moment he laid eyes on her he knew she was the one for him. Would Paul be able to convince her of this?

I found this to be an interesting and entertaining read. The story was well written and the characters were developed. As stated earlier, I started the series disliking Laura, however, by the end of Laguna Lights my perception of her changed. She acknowledged her faults and took the necessary steps to make amends.

Laguna Lights is a story of healing and forgiveness. It demonstrates that fulfillment in our lives comes when we live our own dreams and not the ones expected by others.

This is a great addition to a series that I have enjoyed from the beginning. While this book can be read on its own, I would recommend that you start the series from the beginning.
