There are two main characters trying to heal and find each other but struggle trusting and loving again. I loved both Tori and Drew and of course her son Cal. The romance worked because even though they were so attracted to each other from the beginning, it wasn't perfect and they had to grow and change for awhile before getting together. I liked the realism that made this story one that many people will be able to relate to. There were so many things that grabbed at your heart and you ached right along with Tori trying to get over being in an abusive marriage and Drew learning to let his late wife go and love again. This story is not all angst, as there is also humor and fun sequences as Drew was bonding with Tori's son.
This romance will lift your heart, and restore your faith in the power of hope and love. Well done Julie on stretching your wings and writing a romance that dealt with such sensitive topics, but proving that with love and time happiness can happen for anyone despite all odds.
