I have to admit I’m loving these titles! Mystery was my original genre of choice and while I’m often more likely to be found reading a historical, a good contemporary might find it’s way on my shelves from time to time. Much like I enjoyed Peggy Darty in years past with her Christy Castleman series, I feel a very similar enjoyment to Lorena McCourtney’s Cate Kinkaid Files.

When I was younger I loved mysteries. I love to read them and watch them on various television shows or movies. My mother, my sisters, and I all watched Murder She Wrote together when I was really young and I can still remember the popcorn on the floor… or the different puppy chow chocolate and peanut better mix or cheese and sausage dips we made. Good memories. It’s the kind of mystery that I do not mind reading before I go to bed. Yes it does keep me interested and wondering, but it’s not the type of nightmares. I have really enjoyed Lorena’s writing and I do plan to look for the rest of the Cate Kindcaid Files!
