-- My copy is a special edition Dolly Parton Imagination Library paperback.

My three year old daughter loves monkeys and the message in this book is just right for her. It's a story about a squirrel monkey that gets bored and wanders off. On his search for finding home he meets several other different types on monkeys with different skills. He does make it home in the end and teaches his troop his new skills as well as apologizes to his mama. The illustrations are great and there is plenty to see and point out especially a pair of parrots throughout. It is a great conversation piece for learning about different species of monkeys including a page with individual illustrations and descriptions of each type.

However I wish there was something more said about the dangers of wandering off and not make it so positive and adventurous but I suppose you could combine the positive outlook of this book with others to cover or touch on the topic.
