This was my first Helen Hardt book. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. I loved the erotic element to this historical romance. Lily was unashamed of her sexuality once she shed her virginity with Daniel. But that was how Lily lived most of her life and she didn't apologize for wanting what she wanted or even speaking her mind.

Daniel was a perfect hero, with his emotional issues that hold him back from everyone until the right woman comes along. I loved how he fell completely for Lily and had to work to prove she was the exception to his well-earned reputation.
