The Very Fairy Princess by Julie Andrews Edwards, Emma Walton Hamilton

The Very Fairy Princess (Very Fairy Princess)

by Julie Andrews Edwards and Emma Walton Hamilton

While her friends and family may not believe in fairies, Geraldine knows, deep down, that she is a VERY fairy princess. From morning to night, Gerry does everything that fairy princesses do: she dresses in her royal attire, practices her flying skills, and she is always on the lookout for problems to solve. But it isn't all twirls and tiaras - as every fairy princess knows, dirty fingernails and scabby knees are just the price you pay for a perfect day!

This new picture book addition to the Julie Andrews Collection features the joyful illustrations of Christine Davenier, and is sure to inspire that sparkly feeling within the hearts of readers young and old.

My maiden name is Andrews and growing up that gave me one more reason to love Julie Andrews other than the Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast and many many more things of my youth including the Princess Diaries. When I discovered a few years ago that Julie and her daughter co-authored several children's books I was excited, because having been entertained by Julie in my childhood I'm sure her books are delightful. I have read a few of them in passing and in my nanny years, but The Very Fairy Princess is my first one for my daughter's shelf and I am very pleased. In a manner similar to [b:My Name is Not Isabella|3486558|My Name is Not Isabella|Jennifer Fosberry|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1266630177s/3486558.jpg|3527973] this book is great for the imagination and for showing a girl that she is everything that she dreams she can be. It is a very pink book, but then yet, every little girl needs a good dose of pink every now and again.

The glitter of the cover is a real big hit and the artistry is fun. I really enjoy this one.
