I love the glittery world of Shanghai that Chloe builds! It’s a really enjoyable read. I will say for it being a Romeo and Juliet telling I guess I expected more romance. And some of the sections about the communists felt slow. But I give her credit for teasing out the political tensions. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be reading the second.
