I'm a little late to reading this one, but I loved it! It was so interesting to read about how the world thinks everyone is ugly until they have the surgery. This is another book about the messed up governments! Yay for reading about awful governments!

I was fascinated by Tally's world and how she reacts to people who choose to stay ugly and live in the Smoke. And I LOVED David. I just loved the whole atmosphere of the Smoke in general. I must admit that I was getting frustrated with Tally when she took forever to understand why people wouldn't want to have the surgery. It really makes you realize how brain washed these people are into believing that not having the surgery is bad and being ugly is bad because everyone must look the same in order to have peace among everyone. This book just has such an interesting concept and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!
