Metamorphosis is the fourth short story in the authors "Twelve Terrifying Tales for 2011" series. This is the 3rd one I've read (I missed March!) and as fantastically chilling as the previous installments. What I love most about the stories is the author pulls no punches in creating a graphic, chilling tale. They are raw, gritty, and deepy scary. This short story was about 50 printed pages, which would normally make me question the ability to fully achieve all of the elements of a great horror story, without leaving me feeling like there was something missing. But the story is so complete, so well developed that there is definately not anything missing. Her characters are extremely well-developed and realistic and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I highly recommenf you pick up this installment of the series, and all the other ones! I give it a 4.5 mugs!
