I'll be completely honest with you guys. The cover is freaking gorgeous and that's what got me to need this book in my life. When I read the description, hinting at a second-chance romance, I was beyond sold. I requested it without a doubt! But then I read a review that concerned me. They mentioned a trope I don't like so my excitement died down. Fear not! The author did a fantastic job in including this aspect in the story that even I, someone who despises this trope, ended up adoring the story!

Corinne and Nicholas have been best friends for a long time! Nicholas has always had feelings for her but Corinne has now started to Nicholas and she tries to hied it but pretty soon both give in to each other. Unfortunately, this love-fest doesn't last because Corinne makes a decision that ruins this new-found attraction, which made me so frustrated! I remember reading this book at work at the library and wanting to yell at Corinne but alas, I could not do such thing at the library. Years later, Corinne is back and she's engaged. Nicholas has also moved on with someone else. Both Corinne and Nicholas are very civil and friendly but the feelings haven't evaporated. They start creeping in slowly yet strongly! I was so cheering for them! I did not forget the trope in this but I was just so excited for them and I was believing their romance so much, I started to ship them.

Oh and guess what? There's a plot twist! At first, I was confused but when it happened I WAS IN SHOCK! I was so confused but at the same time I knew what was happening. My poor heart did not want to believe it! I started to get tears! The author really hooked me on so much that my emotions were on a roller-coaster ride.

This was a very well-written dual POV story. I love when the stories alternate between the two main characters so I can get more insight into each characters' thoughts. For a debut novel, this was amazing. I applaud Ashley Drew for writing a stunning second-chance story.

I received an eARC for free in exchange for my honest review. This review was originally posted on Latte Nights Reviews.
