FINDING US was a bit different than I thought it was going to be. Megan Smith threw a bit of a curve ball into the story that had me wondering how Jasmine and Knox were going to come out at the end of the story. The ending of the story seemed a bit rushed and left me with definite questions about what was coming next and if this was truly the end to Jasmine and Knox's story.
I liked Jasmine and found myself really invested in her as a character. But when her family secret is revealed and how that tied into Knox's grand scheme, it left me wondering why she wasn't more upset. The most important people in her life lied to her and used her. But it felt like she was mad for about five seconds before everything was OK. I needed her to be irate with her parents and want to confront them about the lies. And I really needed her to not give into Knox quite so easily.
There were times when I found myself not liking Knox, but other times where I just wanted to put my arms around him and tell him it'd be OK. He flip flopped back and forth with his feelings towards Jasmine that I had whiplash trying to follow him. But as his secrets unfolded, I understood him a little bit better. I may not have agreed with what he was doing, but I could understand his need to do it.
Jasmine and Knox did have tremendous chemistry with each other, even when questions swirled around about whether or not they liked each other, that chemistry was still there. It's that chemistry that kept me reading. Kept me invested in their relationship.
I'm hoping their is more to come with the characters in this book. The secondary characters were just as interesting as Knox and Jasmine, which leaves me wanting more of their stories...especially with the way the book ended in the epilogue.
