I'd never heard of Douglas Adams prior to my year 9 Literature class. But we had to study the first book and I fell in love. I adore this series. It's hilarious.

That said, it's not for everyone. I remember that I was one of the few in the class that did love it. Most hated it. But the humour spoke to me. So give it a try. You can always stop reading, but everyone should give it a go.
