Wicked Business by Janet Evanovich

Wicked Business (Lizzy and Diesel, #2)

by Janet Evanovich

The hardcover edition of Wicked Business contains Plum & Wicked stickers inside!

Janet Evanovich, mega-bestselling author of the beloved Stephanie Plum series, is back and better than ever. Her novels, hailed by GQ as “among the great joys of contemporary crime fiction,” deliver rollicking adventure with crackling wit and hilarious mayhem. And, now, one of the hottest writers today returns with dynamic duo Lizzy and Diesel to prove that when hunting down bad guys, the real fun is in the chase.

When Harvard University English professor and dyed-in-the-wool romantic Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered and thrown off his fourth-floor balcony, Lizzy and Diesel take up his twenty-year quest for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed by some to be infused with the power of lust. Following clues contained in a cryptic nineteenth-century book of sonnets, Lizzy and Diesel tear through Boston catacombs, government buildings, and multimillion-dollar residences, leaving a trail of robbed graves, public disturbances, and spontaneous seduction.

Janet Evanovich does it again and gives us another exciting un-put-down-able read that is striking a chord with readers everywhere!

Yay! I'm so glad the second book of this series was as good as the first. I adore the Stephanie Plum series, and so far, Lizzie & Diesel are on par with it.

Diesel's quest to find all of the SAGILIA stones takes on a slightly gruesome twist when a man's body is found at the bottom of his apartment building with a handprint burnt into the back of his neck. Sounds just like Wulf right? Wrong. Someone else has a temper and serious powers, and they aren't afraid to use either.

The second book follows Lizzie, Diesel and Carl the monkey as they try to find the Lovey stone (which is, as you may have guessed, the Lust or Invidia stone) and wind up stealing a painting, a bell, a nameplate, a museum display and a key. Although to be fair, Carl steals the key, Diesel steals the other items, and Lizzie has to put up with them being in her house.

Wulf's less than delightful sidekick Hatchet winds up with an extreme case of case because of Gloria's attempts at magic. She is eventually able to fix it, but leaves him with an allergic reaction instead. The hilarious exploits continue when later on, after being entirely cured, Hatchet becomes infatuated with Gloria after coming into possession of the stone for Wulf.

If you are looking for an easy, light adventure, with a little bit of sexual tension and a lot of laughter then you should definitely read this and Wicked Appetite, the first novel in the series.
