One wild night to finish her bucket list, Cameron Lawson is faced with her final task. She needs to hook up with a random guy. When she bemoans a little too loudly, the man sitting next to her offers himself up for the job. A drop dead gorgeous guy wearing a University of Tennessee baseball cap with his hair curling around the edges becomes Cam's first one-night stand.
Cam's first day at her dream job turns into a complete nightmare when the guy in the UT hat turns out to be her boss's boss, Aiden Truitt. After one tension-filled encounter after another at the office, Aiden can't keep himself away from Cam. Even though Cam knows there is no future, no white picket fence, or kids for the two of them, she agrees to a secret affair with Aiden. If anyone at the office found out, one or both of them could be out of a job due to the no fraternization policy.
I loved the strong opening and introduction of Cameron and Aiden. Their chemistry sizzled on the page from one rendezvous to the next. Cameron tells the story from her perspective, and I was able to get a raw look into the mind of the hard working, yet vulnerable young woman. At first, her competitive streak worried me, but it ended up being an asset in the long run. In the face of Aiden telling her over and over again he could not give her the future she wanted, she still stuck in there because she believed in what her heart was telling her.
I do not want to spoil anything, but Cameron has a deep fear that let me see she wasn't perfect. She has flaws like all the rest of us, even if she tries her best not to show them.
As for Aiden, there were times I just wanted to kick him in the head and tell him to wake up. He knew he had a good thing with Cam and didn't want it to end, but he could not admit they could have a future together.
No Kissing Allowed is a witty adventure of attraction in the workplace like I've never read before. I am eager to check out all of the Melissa West novels as soon as possible.
