Forgiveness is the overarching theme of these two lovely novels, combined in one book, The Nobleman's Governess Bride.
In The Viscount Meets His Match, Rebecca and Sebastian meet when he mistakes her for her charge and accuses her of being unsuitable for his brother. I enjoyed the way they spent time together in an attempt to sway the other to their reasoning about the match.
I really liked the way that Rebecca was willing to confront the powerful viscount about his attitude and need to forgive, using Scripture to do so. And her willingness later to take a clear look at herself to see her shortcomings as well.
The Baron's Governess Bride was an interesting view of the life of a beautiful yet poor woman in Regency England, and the difficulties she encountered because of that. Grace not only had to learn of forgiveness (as did Rupert), but also to learn about trust.
Rupert's daughters was so sweet and I enjoyed reading about the lessons both in and out of the nursery that Grace taught them. I think my favorite part of the book was the intimate, yet innocent meeting Grace and Rupert had at the ball and the scene on the bridge as he was so bold to place his hand next to hers so their fingers touched.
Both stories were delightful and well-written.
