After the ending in A VOW OF THORNS I wasn’t sure how R. Scarlett was going to turn this story around.

For those that have followed the series, you know the heart of a beast is something that irrevocably changes a demon. Tensely had always been a little afraid of the beast and his feelings for Molly. This book was truly a struggle between beast and man, with Molly being the catalyst. But given what was happen at the High Court, I expected a bit more high court drama. Yes, there was Lilith trying to gain the upper hand and remain queen, plus her son lurking in the wings for his own gain. But it felt like Tensley dealt with the court drama and Molly was off dealing with Scorpios. I would have thought Lilith or the prince would have used Scorpios and Molly to control Tensley and get what they wanted. And from that we see if Tensley the man or the beast win.

I was also curious about the curse Molly used on Tensley. I understood why she did it, but then she had a conversation with Beau and we discover what she did may not have been necessary. I understand wanting to get quick results, but could she have won him over without cursing him?

In the end, Tensley and Molly got their happily ever after. I was satisfied with how it ended, but I I’m hoping we get more from this world because I have some unanswered questions when it comes to the secondary players in the Scorpios world.
