I was a little torn on how to rate this issue. On the one hand it was both hilarious and action packed, but on the other I felt it was a little plot-light. But for a mini-series one can’t ask for everything and the world. I did enjoy the laugh out loud moments (and there really are some) as well as the overall absurd nature of what is actually happening here.
Ghost Rider (aka Frank Castle) is still completely determined to raise little Thanos as his own. He seems to think he’ll be a good father figure, and that it’ll somehow make Thanos a better person. I guess it never occurred to him that this might not actually be the case. I mean, Ghost Rider doesn’t strike me as the sort of person that should be raising children. Period. Particularly not ones with a predilection towards violence.
Personally, I found myself wondering during the last couple issues if this is the reason that Thanos is the way he is. We don’t know a ton about Thanos’ childhood, so we can’t technically prove it. Though the conclusion of this issue indicates that the theory I had was actually wrong. It’s worse than I thought – or so they keep telling me.
