Meet Warren the 13th, a cursed twelve-year-old Victorian bellhop who's terribly unlucky, yet perpetually optimistic, hard-working, and curious. What an epic story, full of magic, mystery, and adventure. The pace is fast, with something happening on almost every page, full of twists and riddles and codes. Top-notch quality writing with rich vocabulary and beautiful phrasing. This is the kind of book you feel good about giving your kids; a book you keep on your bookshelf for years and years. And the incredibly detailed illustrations are the icing on the cake. Such a fun read!
