Soldier by Julie Kagawa

Soldier (Talon Saga, #3)

by Julie Kagawa

When forced to choose between safety with the dragon organization Talon and being hunted forever as an outcast, Ember Hill chose to stand with Riley and his band of rogue dragons rather than become an assassin for Talon. She's lost any contact with her twin brother, Dante, a Talon devotee, as well as Garret, the former-enemy soldier who challenged her beliefs about her human side.

The story continues, and in this book, the focus is on the soldier, Garret. We learn a lot more about his past and his role in the order. So, I will admit the story lived put to its name. We also learn more about the tangled web of the order. Lots of action, lots of big reveals.

Why did I round to 4 and not 5 stars? Several reasons for me. The love triangle was not going in the direction I wanted it to. I know! I shouldn't rate the book based on that, but it affected my experience. The other HUGE reason??? That ending. Kagawa has done this to me before. She has left me with a very ugly cliffhanger, and in the end, it worked out in an acceptable way. So, I will wait, and trust that JK has a good reason for doing this to me.

Overall: another great read
