Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes

Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse (Live Oak Readalongs)

by Kevin Henkes

A perfect first school story, full of warmth, humour, and real life observation! Lilly loves school. She loves the pointy pencils. She loves the squeaky chalk. Most of all, she loves her teacher, Mr Singer. Lilly the irrepressible mouse-child wants to wow Mr Singer, so she brings her treasures to school - with hilarious and disastrous results!

I was expecting to love this one but was not quite enthralled. Especially for students in a classroom setting it would be good (as with Whimberly Worries) but for a homeschooled kiddies its okay. The moral and character lessons are still there. Not going to buy, but wouldn't mind reading again from the library. It did seem a bit longer than some.

My edition is 0439662311.
