When We Met

by Molly McAdams, Christina Lee, and A. L. Jackson

"Today's premier New Adult authors combine their talents to tell four original stories from inside one house. When four girls decide to live off campus together as juniors at a college in Michigan, they expect it to be their best year yet. Little do they know, it's a year that will change the rest of their lives. BEHIND HER EYES by A.L. Jackson: Unable to live down her ex-boyfriend's deception, Misha is determined to avoid betrayal. When, the new guy next door, Darryn starts to get under her skin, her defenses start to crumble. But trusting Darryn seems impossible, especially if he's not sure he can trust himself. SAVING ME by Molly McAdams: On the outside, Indy is always ready for a party-but inside she's breaking. Kier makes a weekly routine of saving the girl next door from herself on Saturday nights... but when will she be ready to remember him on Sunday morning? FOULING OUT by Tiffany King: Working at a sports bar, Courtney has become a pro at sidestepping propositions from arrogant jocks-which makes her a more elusive catch for campus basketball star Dalton than he expected. But when he falls for the saucy waitress, Dalton will have to rethink his game plan to prove he's not the jerk Courtney expects. BENEATH YOUR LAYERS by Christina Lee: In order to ace her fashion internship, Chloe must team up with local college dropout and set builder, Blake-much to her chagrin. But after some "hands-on" experience, Chloe will have to ask herself if Blake factors into her carefully laid plans..."--

I received an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Four authors join forces and create a set of four novellas that will leave you wanting more and more.

Behind Her Eyes by A.L. Jackson:
Misha was recently hurt and humiliated by Hunter, her former boyfriend. She used to be shy but now she has become more shy and she likes to stay away from the spotlight. Darryn is the new hot and alluring neighbor and Misha can't help but feel something for this guy. Seeing Misha come out of her shell and give another try at dating was very sweet to read. She develops before the readers eyes and comes to life, thanks to Darryn.

Saving Me by Molly McAdams:
SAVING ME is my favorite story from this set of novellas. Indy is a party girl on the outside, she sleeps around and gets drunk but she never remembers anything from those moments when she's at her lowest. Indy found her boyfriend cheating her—he wanted to end things with her for a long time but didn't want her to become upset so he started dating someone else and got her pregnant. Indy hasn't had a great life: her parents basically see her as a failure and they blame her for something that wasn't her fault. Indy drinks away her sorrows and when she needs a safe place, she always ends up at Kier's door, calling his door the "safe door". Kier is always taking care of Indy but she never remembers him, always forgets his name, always forgets the moments he is there. From this set of novellas, Kier is my favorite. The reason being that he is always there for Indy even when she doesn't acknowledge him because her mind shuts off, he continues to be there for her. He wants her happy, he wants her safe in his arms.

Falling Out by Tiffany King:
Courtney and Dalton had been the best of friends since their childhood days. In high school, they drifted apart because Dalton's basketball training barely left him any time to do anything anymore. Courtney felt like basketball was more important to Dalton than their friendship and she was hurt by it. Now, they are face to face and Dalton still cares for her. I loved reading about these two characters coming together after years of not acknowledging one another. Dalton does everything he can to get Courtney back.

Beneath Your Layers by Christina Lee:
Blake and Chloe couldn't be more different. While Chloe wants to succeed in the fashion world and plans everything, Blake dropped out of college and is a spur-of-the-moment kind of guy. They are forced to work together and soon, the flirting banter begins. They get to know each other better and learn to accept each other. They were one of the most adorable couple in this novella.
