This is not full of tips and tricks of how to deal with explosive children - there is a little bit of that in there, but it's far more a book for the mum herself. It is for how to deal in general, how to survive these things, how to keep going and push through, how to adapt and think and see. The best part of this though were those snippets, those sentences, that felt like they came from myself. Those absolutely harrowing heartbreaking admissions of how it feels sometimes. The times we went wrong because we couldn't deal, and admitting to those awful mistakes. These things that have created problems for our children, lasting issues. And of course just the knowledge that we are not alone in this, it's not just me and my son. There are many of us out there dealing with this.

On the other hand, I dropped a star from this book because it is obviously just a copy paste job of a bunch of blog posts by the author. Which is fine, really, I am not against an author making a few dollars (and getting her words out there) by re-purposing her own blog posts. But it shouldn't be obvious. In this case it was super obvious, the way it was written and formatted. She often repeats certain things because obviously she has to repeat herself in new blog posts that might be the first visit by new blog readers. That's an issue that should have been edited. Most glaringly was the time she literally mentioned "in this post" and in one title or subtitle section there was what looked to be the number of comments the original post must have had. And because blogs are not proofread by professionals, or really anyone because what blogger has time for that? that means there were also many poorly written/structured sentences and the occasional missing word.

So good content and super helpful and wonderful to read (also very quick to read). Really needed a lot of editing and rewriting to turn it into an actual book instead of a bunch of blog posts.
