Book One in the Zion Chronicles. Out of the ashes of the Holocaust, a magnificent novel of Israel and her people. A young woman and a young nation searching for identity.

It's interesting to read this again after so many years and having read so much YA. It's thick with description and exposition and if I could change one thing it would be that - a little less description and a little more if the exposition being handled through dialog. But the characters still emerge from those dense paragraphs and are easy to connect to. This book, is perhaps the most difficult to reread because so much of it is spent waiting for everything to come together. But I still really enjoy the story.
