I said it in my last review, but I’m shocked by how much I love Nebula as an antagonist. This issue only reinforced that sentiment. Ironically though, it was the earlier part of the issue that I really loved. One small, simple moment that did an exceptional job of summarizing Nebula’s character and life into just a sentence. That really struck me.
Actually, that’s not entirely true. There’s another amazing Nebula moment that happens about halfway through the issue. It’s a mirror moment for her…and seeing her reaction spoke volumes about how she really felt, versus how she was behaving.
Slight spoiler warning here: I’m so excited that both the Shi’ar (as shown in the last issue) and the Nova Corps got to make an appearance here. I’m of the hope that we’ll get a Nova Corps series again (and maybe even a Darkhawk series…but I digress) so any appearance by them just further gets my hopes raised. The Shi’ar I’m always happy to see because of my love of Darkhawk, obviously. Plus the context of the situation was beautifully ironic, so that’s a plus.
