The Scandalous, Dissolute, No Good Mr. Wright is a fun and romantic book, about the man Eliza really should stay far, far away from. When she meets him for the first time, she finds him quite different from the rake she'd imagined, though...
Because of something that happened when she was very young, Eliza is not allowed to be a débutante until all of her sisters are married off. She finds it very hard to keep waiting, she is more than ready to find herself a husband, and she is hiding in the library one evening when her parents are hosting a ball for one of her sisters. She is vehemently complaining to her youngest sister about how she wants to participate, and is very surprised when she discovers a man sitting there when her sister leaves her. Finding herself alone with Mr. Wright is the worst thing that could happen to Eliza, and she has no idea how to get out of the situation she finds herself in.
Soon, Mr. Wright and Eliza run in to each other by chance in different places, and their interactions are always great fun! Eliza can’t help but feel attracted to him, but he always acts a little aloof. At the same time, she’s sure her parents would never approve of him as he’s rumored to have played away all his money, and he’ll probably never become Duke. The debts of honor gone unpaid, expulsion from a famous gentleman’s club were only the tip of the iceberg as far as the ton was concerned.
