So, this book starts out right where the last book ends. Gary Karkofsky and Cloak (which gives him his supervillain powers), aka Merciless, The Supervillain without Merci (yes, he is aware of the redundancy) returns to Falconcrest City to find it vacant of people. Or well, of at least living people? The city is overrun with zombies. Again, Gary finds himself working with heroes to save the day.
I really enjoyed spending more time with the characters. Mandy, Gary’s wife, is one of my favorite characters. While she is tolerant of Gary’s idea to be a supervillain, it is not her favorite thing. She wants to be a hero, but she allows Garry him villainous ways, but with some rules. I still enjoy Cindy, Gary’s ex-girlfriend and henchwoman. Diabloman continues to be a fun character, as a former A level villain, who has moved to a low D level with age and ramifications of his powers have caused on his health.
This series is really fun. It is full of dry humor and stock full of pop culture references.

The author even fits in a reference to the song, Walk the Dinosaur by Was Not Was, how can you go wrong with that?
I will say that I thought book one was better. I gave The Rules of Supervillainy 4.5 stars and I’m giving this one 4 stars. It is still a very enjoyable story. I still had a ton of laughs. I just think that the first book was a bit better. I enjoyed the plot of that story better. I will still be continuing the series. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for Gary.
Narration
I think this is a book that you really need to listen to. I just think that Jeffrey really brings out the humor in this book. I love the voices he’s picked for each character. I think he does the deadpan humor perfectly. There are just not enough great things for me to say about the narration of this book.
