I had to step away from this for a bit because I wasn't feeling the book. I love Violet, her lack of filter and her being over the top. That said, the beginning of the book just seemed a little too over the top. A little to sophomoric (and that's saying something from Violet). I didn't want to hate the book, so I put it down and promised myself I'd come back to it with different eyes.
I'm glad I came back to it. The tone of the book changed, at least to me, once Alex has his run-in with the boards. Violet changed. Her love for Alex, not just the MC, was right there in every tear, ever interaction with Daisy and her need to make sure he was alright. It was as if Violet grew up. I love filterless Violet, but this Violet I enjoyed even more.
There were still the laughs, especially when Daisy and Skye broke into the brunch cocktails and started talking about inappropriate things (if you ever wondered where Violet's lack of filter came from, you don't have to look further than her mother). And you get to see the camaraderie of the guys, especially given the rough start they had.
FOREVER PUCKED may have had a rough start for me, but it ended with the perfect HEA for Alex and Violet. I'm glad I came back to this and got to experience it.
