Hot Alphas

by Lora Leigh, Laurelin McGee, Shiloh Walker, and Kate Douglas

In Erin's Kiss by Lore Leigh, ex-Marine Turk has become Erin's sworn protector. The target of her CIA-operative brother's foes, Turk is the only port Erin has to cling to in a storm. He promised her brother long ago never to touch her - but how can he resist a woman who aches to be with him as much as he burns for her? In Mistaken by Laurelin McGee, Jaylene is an independent woman whose feminist values run deep. The last thing she wants is a man telling her what to do. Until she meets her mysterious new neighbour. He makes her realize that you can still be strong and relinquish control...in the bedroom. But as their passion consumes them, Jaylene isn't sure he is who he says he is. In Burn for Me by Shiloh Walker, Tate longs to spend his nights with Ali, a woman he's loved for years. But while Ali's heart aches for him, her head has reservations. Ali knows that Tate has unresolved anger that is a force to be reckoned with...but the heat that blazes between them is undeniable. Now both Tate and Ali are left to wonder: Can love really conquer all? In Tangled by Kate Douglas, Nate shows up to work at Tangled Vineyards ready to do what he loves best - craft award-winning wines.
But when something better comes in the form of Cassie, the winemaker and former owner, Nate is completely love-drunk. Getting involved with Tangled's mixologist is a bad way to start off a new job, but with Cassie as a temptation, Nate doesn't stand a chance.

I had the pleasure of getting to read an anthology of new to me authors. Here are brief reviews for each of the four books in the collections.

Erin’s Kiss – 3 Cocktails

Definitely a fun novella that is part of a series. There were parts that didn’t make sense for me because I felt like I was missing information probably contained in other books. Erin and Turk are fun main characters and the scenes between them are very hot. There seemed to be a little too much detail in the bedroom scenes, wordiness that almost made it hard to follow what was happening. Sexy time also seemed to overpower the rest of the story.

Mistaken – 4 Cocktails

I loved the premise of this book! A male writer of erotic fiction connects with a super feminist teacher. The story was just right in the length department with fun characters and good sexy time. There is a great balance between the sexy time and the rest of the story.

Burn for Me – 4 Cocktails

This is a book with great characters and a good story. It’s definitely more relationship based than just a romance and it’s great watching Tate resolve his issues so that he can save his relationship with Ali. This is a book that I would have liked to have been a little bit longer so that we could see what was going to happen next.

Tangled – 4 Cocktails

I loved the main characters, Cassie and Nate, and the sweet story of instant attraction becoming a friendship then a love story. There is just a touch of suspense and a great happily ever after.

This was definitely a good anthology and would be a great way to meet some new authors.
