This was a very fun novella that takes place in a futuristic city where an AI called Karma took away private property and money and replaced it with a points system where people earn points by doing things of value. It is very Black Mirrorish, with the added wrinkle that we learn about this city through the eyes of a djinn who just woke up after an involuntary 4000 year nap. He wants to rule and eat and get drunk and fornicate and be worshipped, but instead he gets swept up in a power struggle and mystery much to his dismay. If you like Murderbot you will enjoy this one too.
