My Review:

Where to start...I guess at the beginning will do just fine. With a bit of quirkiness and a lot of madness I was ready to jump into this book expecting a wild and crazy trip to wonderland. Well, we didn’t go to wonderland and it was 100% completely insane and I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. This book was picked for me by all of you for my To-Be-Read List feature.

Alice is insane…well not the real alice….or is she? After killing all of her school friends, Alice is sent to an asylum for the insane by the courts but Alice doesn’t remember killing anyone and she isn’t sure why she is even in the asylum. It seems when Alice was younger she took a trip to wonderland and her family needs her to forget about it so that she can be released and come home. Some of the patents in the Asylum have a strong resemblance to characters in Wonderland. With the help of a Serial Killer Carter Piller Alice goes on a wild ride trying to catch a killer who just so happens to be the Cheshire Cat. Could all this be real is everyone she meets along the way really be people from Wonderland?…..Is she really Alice.

So you don’t actually take a trip to Wonderland for me it was more the asylum was wonderland and the characters throughout the book are characters from the book just placed into the real world. I honestly thought this was a very interesting retelling of Alice in Wonderland. I thought the riddles or the problems that Alice needed to solve were very complex and a lot of interesting references to Lewis Carroll some things I didn’t know about him so it was a little difficult for me to solve anything and I found the help that the Piller gave her was rather making it easy for her to figure things out. It gave her no challenge or at least what was the point of her being there if he could solve all the riddles for her.

I actually enjoyed Alice very much but I was quite fond of Jack Diamond I honestly wanted more of him in this book. I found all the characters to be very interesting but once I was finished I still have a lot of questions that I felt were unanswered. I am hoping this story continue, I thought it was interesting how it ended but it almost felt final. It actually made me feel mental for a couple days.

Insanity turned out to be a lot better than I thought it would be. I gave it 4/5 stars. Strange and interesting story with off the wall and wacky characters. This is my first book of Cameron Jace and I feel like I need to read more of his work. I would for sure recommend this if you are looking for something different and insane :)
