You know those issues that just make you laugh out loud again and again? This is one of those issues. I kind of had a feeling that’d be the case, since Spider-Man is so predominantly shown on the cover, but you never know.
This issue does have a lot of funny moments, thanks heavily to Spider-Man’s cameo. I loved his interactions with Bats especially. The scene where he talks to a spider is pretty funny, but also a little bit trippy (I showed the page to my husband and his only comment was ‘I don’t know how to respond to that’ if that gives you any ideas).
The comic relief is greatly appreciated, especially considering how heavy the last plot was, thanks to Damnation and all. There’s still a heavy undertone to this issue, but it’s more of the resolution sort of mode.
Fans of Zelma will be happy for her appearance, and perhaps even hopeful by the way things are left. It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here – I’m assuming Doctor Strange will be getting rebooted along with the rest very soon.
