Forever and a Day by Jill Shalvis

Forever and a Day (Lucky Harbor, #6)

by Jill Shalvis

Grace had a great life in New York, until it shattered. Finding out at age 30 that you're adopted will do that to a person. With everything she once believed in yanked out from beneath her feet, Grace travels across the country to find herself. She goes looking for roots, but what she finds is much, much more. Some of that comes in the form of Dr. Josh Scott, an ER doc working nights. He's tough and jaded when Grace first shows up at his place looking for his employee - whom she believes is her birth mother. But she's wrong. And exhausted or not, Josh is protective of what's his: his young son, his staff, his quiet world. But even his own defenses are no match for what he sees in Grace ... a kindred soul.

My favorite so far!

The sixth installment in the Lucky Harbor series does not disappoint. If anything; it just keeps getting better. Jill Shalvis is a master, and all you can do is watch in owe as she works her magic.

We're back in the little town of Lucky Harbor, where sexy available men are everywhere, beautiful unattached women can be found watering tables and everyone knows everyone's business.
This time, the story centers around the third and last chocoholic; Grace Brooks, and the sexy ER doctor/single father; Josh Scott. We already read Ty and Mallory's story, Amy and Matt's... it's time for the last one to find love. And boy, does she find it.

Summery from Goodreads:
LOVE CAN HAPPEN IN A HEARTBEAT.
Grace never thought she’d be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh’s loveable mutt to caring for his rambunctious kids. Soon Grace is playing house with the sexy single dad…
With so many people depending on him, Josh has no time for anything outside of his clinic and family–until Grace arrives in town. Now this brainy blonde is turning his life inside out and giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “good bedside manner.” Josh and Grace don’t know if what they have can last. But in a town like Lucky Harbor, a lifetime of love starts with just one day…

Boy, and I thought I loved Matt and Amy from the last story! I just adored both Grace and Josh. Jill Shalvis has the unique ability to create completely lovable characters. You come out of her stories liking everyone and everything. Seriously.

For me, Forever and a Day has something that At Last (Lucky Harbor 05) didn't have; heart clenching moments that had nothing to do with a hard past, but characters I was so in tune with that every time they hurt, every time things got a little rough, every time one of them got a metaphorical punch to the gut, I hurt.

I loved Josh and Grace. Both were so real, so solid, and such good people. Really, in Shalvis's books, everyone is always such good people. Makes you wish there were more people like them in real life.
And the chemistry between the two was just hot. They were hot. Time to take the fan out of the closet, girls – You'll need it.

Josh's family was great, and it was interesting to see of a couple with a build in family: We have Toby, Josh's five years old son. The guy's freaking adorable. He also barks, but that's just a phase.

Then there is Anna, Josh's paralyzed younger sister who also happens to have an attitude that drives a man mad--with the need to kill her, that it. I loved Anna, and how she kept trying to mess with Josh, because she's so lost. I loved watching how Grace helped her, in her own way. Anna needed a Grace in her life.
I kind of hope Anna will get a book of her own; she is definitely a character I'd love to read about, and writing about a handicapped character will surely be an interesting challenge to Shalvis.

I also loved getting to see Chloe (Lucky Harbor 03) again- she actually spoke in this book! As well as Ford (Lucky Harbor 02), and Sawyer (Lucky Harbor 03).

We have an Epilogue this installment, and it's cute!! Every other book I keep wondering when they'll have kids and all that, and here we're shown! Love it! it was a short one, but satisfying nonetheless.

I hope Shalvis will do a small collection letting us know what happened with all the couples; kids, marriage and all that. I'm dying to know about Chloe and Sawyer and Matt and Amy!!!

Well, I really don't have much to say here. Just that I loved the book, read it in one sitting and I greatly recommend the series!
