Rat Queens Volume 1: Sass & Sorcery

by Kurtis J. Wiebe

  • Who are the Rat Queens? A pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battlemaidens-for-hire, and they're in the business of killing all god's creatures forprofit. It's also a darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series starring Hannah theRockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist HumanCleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief. This modern spin on an old schoolgenre is a violent monster-killing epic that is like Buffy meets Tank Girl in aLord of the Rings world on crack!
  • Collecting the first five issues of the sold-out hit series at the specialintroductory price of $9.99!

5 Stars for some kick ass broads, nostalgia of D&D, and some major brutality. If I wasn't a fan girl of all of that, this would probably be closer to a 3.5 or 4 star trade, for the simple fact that the story/plot is all over the place and there's gaps galore.

But the gals, and the art, and the blood and gore make up for all of that! I picked this up through my library, but I'm sure they'll be hitting my bookshelves soon in a more permanent capacity.

I'm going to buy them...that's what I'm trying to say here.
