Rat Queens Volume 1: Sass & Sorcery

by Kurtis J. Wiebe

  • Who are the Rat Queens? A pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle
maidens-for-hire, and they're in the business of killing all god's creatures for
profit. It's also a darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series starring Hannah the
Rockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist Human
Cleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief. This modern spin on an old school
genre is a violent monster-killing epic that is like Buffy meets Tank Girl in a
Lord of the Rings world on crack!
  • Collecting the first five issues of the sold-out hit series at the special
    introductory price of $9.99!

5 Stars for some kick ass broads, nostalgia of D&D, and some major brutality. If I wasn't a fan girl of all of that, this would probably be closer to a 3.5 or 4 star trade, for the simple fact that the story/plot is all over the place and there's gaps galore.

But the gals, and the art, and the blood and gore make up for all of that! I picked this up through my library, but I'm sure they'll be hitting my bookshelves soon in a more permanent capacity.

I'm going to buy them...that's what I'm trying to say here.
