The plot of this book follows Dru, a woman in Victorian England who doesn't want to have anyone tell her how to feel. The plot of the story was excellent, and one of my favorite things to read about, I loved how the plot intertwined the way that Dru wanted to be, and the way that society told her to be. The characters in this novel are great, while Dru was my favorite character, I enjoyed reading about the other characters and seeing their interactions with Dru was the story progressed. I don't read a lot of Historical Romance, but the book characters reminded me of those in historical fiction, so you would enjoy this if you like that genre.
The writing in this book eas just like an adult romance novel. I could tell the author had done research on the time period because of the way the characters talked, and how they acted around each other. I'm not one that reads a ton of adult romance, but I do want to warn that there are some sex scenes in this book. If you're like me, it's easy to just read past them, and not lose all that much of the story.
