Wow - I read this super fast. Was it just me being really into it or was it shorter than usual? Either way I enjoyed it and am sad to have it finished already. I buddy read it with Sophia and it was a treat to share our impressions, however fast it flew by. I believe she's also giving it 4 stars.

Side note: If you haven't read the short story "Dead Men Tell No Tales... But Women Do" from Betwixt Volume 2 I recommend checking it out. It's not necessary, but you will understand a new character a little better.

This book was a bit different than the others for me - I feel like usually there's a big mystery that you're caught up in all these moving parts to solve. This time, there was a mystery but I never really felt like Holly and the gang were as deeply into it. I mean, they were invested and Holly was searching for answers. But it just felt different and easier somehow.

Where this book excelled were the developments on the personal front - I feel like Holly and Adams relationship is continuing to progress (I know, their engaged already but things are still in motion), especially with the new Inn and visitors that are friendly with Adam's parents. Muriel and Nick are developing and even things with Evie are developing. Our crew of paranormal misfits are growing up!

I listened to this (of course). I say of course, because Amanda Ronconi is the narrator and she is in my top 5 of narrators. She knows how to deliver a compelling performance, bringing the characters, the humor and the stress to life.
