Their Fractured Light by Amie Kaufman, Meagan Spooner

Their Fractured Light (Starbound, #3)

by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

A year ago, Flynn Cormac and Jubilee Chase made the now infamous Avon Broadcast, calling on the galaxy to witness for their planet, and protect them from destruction. Some say Flynn's a madman, others whisper about conspiracies. Nobody knows the truth. A year before that, Tarver Merendsen and Lilac LaRoux were rescued from a terrible shipwreck-now, they live a public life in front of the cameras, and a secret life away from the world's gaze.

I really liked this series, and the ending was a interesting look at us, as humans, and our humanity. I was not expecting it to go in that direction, but I was not disappointed either. I love how Kaufman and Spooner brought all the MCs from each book together, and revealed how they were interconnected. Once again, they gave us a great couple -- Gideon and Sophia. Sophia is a con woman on the run with a mission, and Gideon is a high end hacker. Both were out for revenge on the same man, but they had very different ideas of how to avenge the deaths of their loved ones. As the story goes on, each of our characters evolve, they realize that their feelings about a lot of things have changed, and their needs and desires changed too, for the better.
I choose who I am, every day. And I'm choosing now to be me.

There is so much mushy love and I had heart-eyes quite a few times. Pitter pat, that sort of stuff makes me happy.
was that if you were the one whose life, or soul, or self were at stake, and I had to choose between you and the entire universe? I'd be halfway there already. I wouldn't even stop to think."

They also highlight the friendships and the love for friends that make us whole.
And from the inside, surrounded by the joy and devotion and loyalty of my friends, the shimmer of rage on the outside of our lives looks paper-thin.

I thought the authors did a great job bringing this story to it's climax. Once all 6 MCs were together, it got real. This was a very satisfying ending to a great series, which left me thinking about things -- which is a good thing.
