After This Night by Lauren Blakely

After This Night (Seductive Nights, #2)

by Lauren Blakely

The sexy, emotional sequel to the NYT Bestseller Night After Night...

Their world was passion, pleasure and secrets.

Far too many secrets. But Clay Nichols can't get Julia Bell out of his mind. He's so drawn to her, and to the nights they shared, that he can't focus on work or business. Only her. And she's pissing him off with her hot and cold act. She has her reasons though-she's trying to stay one step ahead of the trouble that's been chasing her for months now, thanks to the criminal world her ex dragged her into. If only she can get out of this mess, then maybe she can invite the man who ignites her back in her life, so she can have him-heart, mind and body.

He won't take less than all of her, and the full truth too. When he runs into her again at her sister's wedding, they have a second chance but she'll have to let him all the way in. And they'll learn just how much more there is to the intense sexual chemistry they share, and whether love can carry them well past the danger of her past and into a new future, after this night...

From what I understand, After This Night is he 3rd book in a series. The much-anticipated conclusion to Clay and Julia’s story. I have not read the first two books in this series, however that did not dampen my enjoyment in reading After This Night in the least. It reads perfect as a stand-alone novel. If you had no prior information, you would just assume that this particular book is about two perfect for each other people who made the mistake of splitting up instead of working out their issues.

Based on that, I must say that I absolutely loved it. The characters were engaging and entertaining. Clay the epitome of every woman’s dream man is strong, sweet and sensitive. He cares for Julia and is not afraid of showing it. Julia’s insistence on taking care of her problems herself and not relaying on Clay to solve them for her is a refreshing change after so many books where a formerly strong heroine meets the love of her life and suddenly becomes unable to make the slightest decision on her own. This alone makes this book a definite keeper.

Would I read this book again? Most definitely! As a matter of fact, I look forward to downloading the first two books in the series so I can read how Clay and Julia first met and I would recommend others do as well. Ms. Blakely is a new to me author that I will definitely be keeping an eye on in the future.
