My class voted for this book for our class Read-Aloud. There were several kids that were interested
in Harry Houdini. Now, I've read almost all of these either with my own kids when they were in elementary school or with my school kids. This was an OK book but not my favorite Magic Treehouse book. Kids that love reading this series will like it, but for me the story dragged a little and wasn't as exciting as some of the others have been. I do suggest this series to my students that are starting to read chapter books. They have a way of getting kids excited to read fantasy and time travel books which are some of my favorite genres to read.
