Wicked Need is HOT! And it's also very tender. And there's some danger and quite a bit of self-doubt.

With Wicked Need, Bennett took the tension and the hotness up yet another notch! I felt both sorry for Cat, and was angry at her expense because of what she'd been through with her old-ass husband, and things didn't exactly get better for her once he kicked the bucket, either. And I was so surprised by Rand's knight in shining armour complex! He seemed so detached in the prior books in the Wicked Horse series, I wasn't sure he had it in him to be so caring, even if I knew he wasn't judgemental! He was the perfect champion for Cat, and his intentions were almost always noble.

Cat was a very strong, young woman! She had definitely lived through hell, both growing up with a mom who didn't care about her at all, and after she left home and could only rely on herself. She really thought her life had taken a turn for the better when she married an old billionaire who acted so sweetly towards her while they were dating. He wasn't really all that sweet though, but he managed to keep his true colors hidden until after they had gotten married. Cat was still able to hope, though, and she was not a shrinking violet who thought she didn't have any options at her disposal.

There were sightings of the other characters from the series, too, and Cat's meeting with Jamie and Sloane was priceless! And it also squeezed my heart to think that she'd never really had any close girlfriends before she met them. I also loved that Rand was so ready to do whatever he could to help Cat out, even as he was falling in love with her. Their romance was tender, with lots of hot sex, and the only real obstacle to their happiness was Cat's complete and utter lack of self-worth! She truly didn't think she was good enough for Rand, and was ready to leave him behind so that he could be happy without her.

There was a nice mystery going on as a smaller side-plot, and the way that was dealt with was amazing! It showed some very strong girl-power, fast thinking on Bridger's part, and some hard to keep in check emotions for Rand. If you're a fan of contemporary erotica that has a lot more going on than the sexy-times, the Wicked Horse series is one you should absolutely pick up! Both the main characters and the side characters are well fleshed out, and the story is fast-paced. Written in dual points of views from Cat's and Rand's perspectives, it was possible to really get to know both of them as well.

I'm definitely unlucky in love, but I'm okay if it never comes my way again. I've got friends, a great job, and all the kinky fuckery I could ever imagine. I snicker to myself, thinking about that. Kinky fuckery.

Hell, she may be the absolute sexiest, and I'm only judging this by the fact that, in this moment, I seem to be more attracted to her than ever before. I'm not sure if it's her vulnerability or my white-knight complex, but I've seen Catherine dressed in any number of sexy outfits with perfect hair and makeup, and I never wanted to fuck her as bad as I do right now.

I may spend a lot of time at a sex club, but I'm not one of these guys with emotional barriers who uses no-strings sex as a way to keep women at arm's length. I'm an actual snuggler to the core. I don't care if it's a one-night stand or the love of your life. After sex, there's nothing better than spooning and drifting off to sleep.
