Not a bad follow up to the first book in this series. I love that the protagonist has a backbone, and doesn't try to justify her involvement with a lame excuse (unless she's lying to a suspect). This author seems to defy some stereotypes/formulae that I find a lot of authors fall back on with cozy mysteries. The characters don't yet feel like friends, but I'll definitely read the third one and keep an open mind.
