Rouge is a little better than Alliance, but there's still so many issues.
Rouge is an action-packed finale, but there's all action and travelling and very little space for character development, emotions and story. There's a lot going on in Rouge, but I was so bored. Everything is rushed and the climax is anti-climatic.
In Rouge, we get to witness the Never-Was world through the characters' eyes. The world-building is okay, but I couldn't understand certain aspects related to the world, the concepts and the technology. I also didn't understand why the characters decided to journey to the Never-Was in the first place.
I also don't like any of the characters and lost the positive feelings that I had towards some of them in The Paladin Prophecy. The characters' abilities would always appear or evolve when they were needed and I never felt that the characters were in immediate danger. I also really hate the romance in this series. It's so poorly done.
The Paladin Prophecy series will not be remembered with fondness in my bookish memories.
