When Sophie Beckford and Bram, the Earl of Kelmarsh, meet in the most unusual way, it is about as close as one can come to love at first sight. Bram knows he needs a wife and an heir. His instant desire towards Sophie tells him he can’t wait any longer. The night their betrothal is to be announced, Bram’s secret life as a spy catches up with him and he loses Sophie.
Bram is heartbroken when Sophie and her family flee to Ireland where he cannot follow. He knows she will return and vows to be ready when she does. He begins the steps to his retirement as a spy. Once Sophie is back in London, Bram does everything he can to make sure Sophie knows his desire has never waned. Every month since she left, Bram has sent her a unique gift on the same day of every month. Once she has returned to London, the gifts keep coming. Sophie now has her cousin from Ireland to help her keep her heart turned from Bram’s gifts and determined will.
Windsor brought me into their world and wrapped me up in their love story and intrigues. Dynamic and passionate lead characters are cheered and jeered by spunky and determined secondary characters. I adored this first novel in what is bound to be a fantastic series. I can’t wait to read what Windsor has in store for us next!
