I had this book since a long time agoish. The reason that I didn't read it immediately because Fire Country didn't really make an impact on me. I had hoped that Ice Country wouldn't suffer the same fate. But as you can see, Ice Country also left the same impression on me.

Ice Country was enjoyable at first then Jolie's kidnapping happened and everything just became a mess. Most of the horrible things that had happened in the book were Dazz's fault because he's a stupid git and only relies on the strength of his knuckles. Of course, this is necessary so that we can see how Dazz will develop into a capable person as the story progresses. Apparently, as the story advanced, Dazz didn't learn from his mistakes and instead became a cheesy idiot who didn't only cause his more capable brother's death but also, almost caused the death of his sister.

Dazz only succeeded with his mission mostly due to the help of the Heaters. And I am not even convinced that the Heaters suddenly found it in their hearts to risk their lives for Icers who they only knew from their short stint in the Palace prison when they should be more focused in addressing their own problems.
