I've been a fan of James's ever since I read Just the Sexist Man Alive. You can say she had me at "shit happens". So, I was ever so thrilled to get my hands on the first of her sexy FBI/US Attorney series. But did I get what I wanted coming into this book?
Why, yes. Yes I did.
It's the kind of love story that had me thinking about it even when I wasn't reading. That had me coming with possible scenes when I had to do something else. That had me excited to find out what will happen next, and when will they finally confess for god's sake!?
All that would not have happened if I didn't just adore the characters.
Jack is a sexy assed, brooding FBI agents, and Cameron is a strong, steel nerved US attorney.
"At least in Nebraska a man could brood in peace."
Together, they were just so entertaining. They had this half-flirt half-tease relationship from page one, with hilarious, flowing and believable dialogues. Which is undoubtly why no one believed they really hated one another and found their so called animosity amusing.
The "no one" is consisted of Wilkins and Collin, two characters I absolutely loved, and even Amy who said one of my favorite lines in the book, a line I feel represents the whole feel of this novel:
"I changed my mind, Cam. If this was all a big setup and he's coming over to strip for me, I think I can handle it."
Julie James is brilliant in making her characters real and colorful, and she definitely made me want an FBI agent all of my own.

So, I was ever so thrilled to get my hand on this book of hers. I hate to have expectations of things, because often they disappoint--but not this time. This book was everything I hoped it will be, and more.
Just to prove how much I got observed in it: half way through, I had to tear myself from this book to go clean my house (that's all my mother's fault – I claim no responsibility). So here I am, sweeping the floor and thinking… about Something About You, of course. I was at the part where Cameron wasn't picking up her phone, and thinking about all the possibilities. Then, when I was satisfied with my reasoning for believing nothing major had happened to Cameron, my mind started wondering to when, for crying out loud, they'd admit they like each other – and under what circumstances? I had a lot of fun with that one, then, the moment I finished moping the floor I ran to my room and went on a determined mission to find out. I finished the book two hours later.
First of all, I loved the characters as much as I loved Taylor and Jason from Just the Sexiest Man Alive.

A big plus for this book was also the steamy scenes. Just the Sexiest Man Alive (yes, I keep comparing—but c'mon, that was the book that introduced me to Julie, don't hold it against me) didn't have such… explicit descriptions. Sure, we got to know that Taylor was naughty toward the end, but here… In Something About You we got a pretty nice look at just how naughty, and I loved it.
The relationship between Cameron and Jack was just so entertaining. I mean, they pretty much half teased-half flirted from the get-go, which was undoubtedly the reason everyone who knew they supposedly hated each other found it so amusing. As did I. Their dialogues were ever so funny and flowing, and nothing sounded fake or caught at my ear.
I definitely enjoyed this read, and will continue to enjoy Julie James works as I read more of it.]
