The Fables series never appealed to me because of the artwork on the covers. It simply didn't draw me in. Now I finished Legends in Exile, I can corroborate what everyone is saying - Fables is a damn good comic.

Legends in Exile centers around a murder mystery - Rose Red is gone, and her apartment is smeared with blood. Bigsby and Snow White grudgingly have to work together to find out what the fate is of Snow's sister.

Not only is the fairy-tale-in-modern-city setting very well done, the writing is absolutely fantastic and the art aesthetically pleasing. A very satisfying first arc. Lucky for me, there are many more to go.
