Tiger's Claim by Celia Kyle

Tiger's Claim (Shifter Rogues, #2) (The Shifter Rogue)

by Celia Kyle

'Celia Kyle's my go-to for sexy alpha shifters and fast-paced, delicious storylines' Jessica Clare, USA Today bestselling author

Jaguar shifter Stella Moore has one thing on her mind - to take down the anti-shifter organization that destroyed her family. Her plans are going perfectly until a sexy-as-sin stranger throws off her game and decides the only way they can both avoid getting caught is to claim her as his girlfriend. Wait! What? Now she has to fly to a tropical island and play along because the alternative is . . . deadly.

Most people know Cole Turner as an uber-wealthy playboy - not as a tiger shifter who's part of a special ops team to protect his kind. Now his undercover mission has been compromised by a redheaded bombshell, and every animal instinct he has is screaming mate. To survive among so many enemies, they'll have to keep up their romantic act, find their intel . . . and absolutely not fall in love along the way.

Tiger's Claim is book 2 of the Shifter Rogues series and I honestly had forgotten the plot arc of book 1 and struggled a bit. There are a LOT of characters-lots of shifters on the SHOC team and lots of bad guys in United Humanity. So, I did struggle at first to get into this one.

However, once I was back on track, I remembered why I liked book 1. Kyle writes really good characters. Stella wants revenge but she isn't exactly equipped to dish it out herself. That doesn't stop her from trying, but it nearly got her captured. Cole is under cover and Stella nearly ruins it until he decides to bring her into the op as his girlfriend. These two butt heads at every turn so there is a lot of good banter. Also, because they are mates (but don't immediately recognize it), there is so much sexual tension it will melt your kindle. The bad guys are pretty morally corrupt which makes them easy to hate.  There is also a subplot with one of the other SHOC guys and one of the bad guys daughter. I'm very curious to see where Kyle takes this plot.

Fans of fated mates, shifters, and the shifters vs humans tropes will enjoy this series and Tiger's Claim! Kyle balances the humorous banter and sexual tension with the dangers of under cover ops in a way that keeps the reader turning pages to see where these characters go next!
