I thought this book was fantastic! It was quirky, funny, witty, serious filled with action, adventure, mystery and lots of social commentary.

It appears that one character in this book is society and its consumerism. First we meet Hunter, who happens to be a "cool hunter". He wanders NYC looking for innovations that he thinks will take off and become a trend. While cool-hunting, Hunter meets Jen. Right away, he knows she is above him on the social pyramid. She, is an innovator. However, he wants to spend more time with her and brings her to a "tasting" (a focus group) and this brings Jen into his circle. Soon, the two are immersed in a hunt for a missing person and we get to enjoy their adventure along with them.

The writing is whip-smart. I love a humorous and intelligent point of view. This book also made me think. Think about how we make our decisions to wear something, or buy something, etc. How messages can be sent to us that convince us of that which really isn't (bugs on your legs, bugs in hair). Also, since I was born in Brooklyn, I have a soft spot for any story featuring NYC, as it adds a familiarity for me.
