Fling (Wrong, #3)

by Jana Aston

I have a crush on my boss' best friend.

At least it's not my brother' best friend. Or my best friend's brother. Or... never mind. It's all pretty cliche.

And worse? My boss' best friend is his business partner. Which sort of makes him my boss too. Okay - it's not sort of. It's definite. Gabe Laurent is off limits.

Totally off limits.

Which is fine. I make do with my imagination. He'll never know. Ever. Unless my work bestie passes me an eighties-style teen movie sex quiz during a meeting and I fill it out.

And it ends up in Gabe's hands...

I haven't read the other books in this series, but I found myself falling into my novella trap again. I'm sure if I had read the other book, this speed in which Sandra and CFO Gabe get together wouldn't have bothered me.

Sandra has a crush on her boss' best friend and the company CFO, Gabe. She's extremely shy and wouldn't make a move on him in her wildest dream. But when her friend give her a sex survey during a meeting and it's accidentally collected by Gabe she suddenly becomes prey to this playboy.

The story had sprinklings of "Sixteen Candles" in it, which made it fun. But I would have loved to have more character and relationship development between Sandra and Gabe. It felt like they jumped from point A to B in a few short pages and it was left to the reader to guess how they got there.

Readers of this series will no doubt love the novella, but I felt like I was missing something. This is most likely my issue with novella (which I didn't realize this was) and not necessarily the book itself. I'll definitely be going back to the beginning of this series as I was intrigued by the characters.
