Sorry, Ms. Hibbert, but this wasn't for me. I felt the romance moving on when I wasn't invested in either character alone or them as a couple, which is a sign that the romance truly isn't for me. However, the writing was quite nice! Very easy to read, and I might check other books by the author.
Also, I didn't understand the need to characterize one of the MCs as "ugly", or the meet ugly... It felt quite weird and gave me whiplash. I'm actually sad because a TikTok account I follow quite a lot recommended this to their audience and I really held their opinions in high regard.
