Daughter of the Pirate King (Daughter of the Pirate King, #1)

by Tricia Levenseller

If you want something done right...

When her father, the ruthless Pirate King, discovers that a legendary treasure map can be found on an enemy ship, his daughter, Alosa, knows that there's only one pirate for the job—herself. Leaving behind her beloved ship and crew, Alosa deliberately facilitates her own kidnapping to ensure her welcome on the ship. After all, who's going to suspect a girl locked in a cell...

But Alosa has skills enough for any three pirates, and has yet to meet her match. Although she has to admit that the surprisingly perceptive and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden, the lucky pirate charged with finding out all her secrets, comes the closest. Now it's down to a battle of wits and will...

Can Alosa find the map before Riden figures out her plan?

Trigger Warning: Torture, Abusive Parent
-->I made it to Chapter 20 and quit two days ago and I don’t want go back. The same things keep happening over and over and over. It’s the climax, a major twist just happened and all I can think of is “get on with it already!!!!”
-->The whole “search the ship” sh!t could and should’ve been cut shorter, IMO to help solve this dragging on nonsense and really, do we need 12 scenes of her being superior and running away? No thank you.
-->Outed a gay pirate. Not cool.
-->Knocked people out and stripped them.
-->The only other note I have, besides the quote I shared on Tuesday, is in Chpt. 11 when they kiss again and “his lips taste even better than I expected.” But they’ve made out before so ???? What were you expecting, tasting his brother's asshole?
-->All I can think is how typical it all is and how I don’t care.
